What do y’all raise funds for anyway?

It’s not always obvious to everyone what a not-for-profit performance group like ours needs to raise funds for.  So here’s a little more information about where your money goes when you make a donation or attend a fundraising event!

1.  Your donation allows us to keep ticket prices affordable to our critically-acclaimed, award-winning regional premiere work. Only 60% of the costs of our producing regional premiere plays in Colorado is covered by ticket sales.  Which means without grants and individual donations, a $15 ticket on Thursday would cost $21, a Friday night $20 ticket would cost $28, and a ticket to one of our shows and community meals would cost almost $50!  We want to make sure that we never price anyone out of joining us for adventurous performance, and so we raise funds!  4. 2.  Your donation allows us to offer educational programming to local elementary students for free.  Every spring, we serve in educational residencies at local elementary schools where we lead second graders through the empowering process of creating and performing original work.  This season we’re at both Heatherwood Elementary and Flatirons Elementary, working with 130 students.  All students participate, and do so at no cost to the school.  Without individual donations, we would not be able to offer this programming for free.  We believe all kids deserve an opportunity to be creative, and so we raise funds!

3.  It allows us to offer scholarships to Camp Catamounts to students who couldn’t otherwise afford it.  Every season, we offer at least two full scholarships to students who would otherwise not be able to afford our summer intensive.  We don’t want students whose parents cannot afford the program not to participate, and so we raise funds!

4.  Your donation allows us to develop our organizational infrastructure to support all of this programming.  The Catamounts are growing by leaps and bounds, with attendance at our regional premiere productions up 45%, attendance at our FEED events up 75%, and with twice as many kids being served in our educational programs as last season.  We need to develop the organizational structure to support all this growth, by expanding the tools with which we reach our audience, and by supporting the staff that puts in many volunteer hours to make it all happen, and so we raise funds!

We believe in the power of adventurous performance to deepen and give meaning to our lives, and so we raise funds!
