ABOUT:

EDDIE AND DAVE by Amy Staats is a gender-bending romp about that most infamous of artistic partnerships, David Lee Roth’s and Eddie Van Halen’s. This comedy explores the question: what do you do when the person you need the most is the one who drives you crazy?

Full of hair-band swagger, EDDIE AND DAVE has a field day with the mix of cock-rock and feminine posturing that chacterized the iconic Van Halen by casting the members with women performers. Part send-up, part homage, EDDIE AND DAVE is all fun.

VACCINE POLICY:
In order to keep our community safe, all audience members will be required to wear masks for the duration of the performance. In addition, all audience members must be fully vaccinated to attend. To qualify as “fully vaccinated,” an individual must have completed their full course of COVID-19 shot(s) 14 days prior to an event. Proof of a negative COVID test, taken in the 48-hours prior to the performance attended, may be substituted.

A note on this policy:

The Catamounts have always been tied to, invested in, and in service of community (the larger arts community of Colorado and the idea of community as a group with some shared experiences, overlapping tastes, and mutual political/social/spiritual willpower). We hope we are making art that inspires, entertains, and challenges all at once. And we feel strongly that our art should be accessible, not in spite of our many differing views within our community but because of them.

Our decision to require proof of vaccination before attending our performances, admittedly, may have neglected some in our community. We struggled with this. We believe strongly in the science supporting vaccines. And we understand the long, problematic history of science sometimes being used to dominate and control communities of color, people who are unhoused or incarcerated or disabled, and many others.

We also understand that some in our community choose not to vaccinate for myriad reasons, perhaps some political, social, or spiritual in nature.

This is part of the reason we are also allowing proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours of attending an event. Whether you have chosen (or are able) to vaccinate or not, you are part of our community and we welcome you to our performances. A negative COVID test in lieu of vaccination helps keep everyone in our community as safe as possible during this time.

Thank you for being part of adventurous art making and sharing in this community with us.
