Whether it’s hailing outside right now, or all rainbows and sunshine, we want to entertain you in June. Thank you to all who have come out to play with us at The Catamounts for the opening weekends of Pride of the Farm and The Estate Sale.

As you’ve heard by now, we are running two shows concurrently: The Estate Sale, in partnership with the People’s Building of Aurora, and Pride of the Farm, in partnership with the City of Westminster. As I write this, only two weekends remain to get out and enjoy these wonderful immersive theatre pieces.

Last month I had the incredible pleasure of interviewing the playwrights responsible for these pieces, so you might get to know them a bit better.

I found Josh Hartwell, writer and director of The Estate Sale to be so down to earth, and also quite brave in his collaboration with visual artist Brad Ramsey and The Catamounts.

“I write into a vacuum like all playwrights (creatives) do. Throw them out there, and submit them, and hope someone appreciates them, and they usually don’t!”

I love a little sarcasm, and self-deprecating humor is one of my favorites. Josh captivated me in this interview because his sentiments are absolutely ones I relate to. I admire artists who are humble, especially against the backdrop of all of the promotion we have to do in order for our work to ever see the light of day.

Then of course there’s Jeffrey Neuman, whom I met on Colorado Gives Day, all the way back in December. He’s another super wonderful human.

Jeff said something that I’m stealing and keeping forever: “I have two basic emotional states: nervous and anxious!” That comment strikes me as funny because he has now bravely written two wholly original, site-specific, immersive pieces for us, that are reflective of his deep humanity. I adore him and his beautiful new play and I know you will too!

Do you have your tickets for Pride of the Farm and The Estate Sale? Only two weekends remain!

Hope to see you all this weekend or next,
