FAVORITE ALL TIME ROLE: Grendel’s Mom

FAVORITE ADVENTURE (Real or Imagined): Spending two weeks in Siberia teaching Aikido. This allowed me to travel to the Russian Taiga and spend a weekend at a Russian Children’s camp. In addition me and my Sensei gave an exhibition of Aikido on National TV

BIO:  Joan Bruemmer-Holden  is a company member of The Catamounts.  She most recently appeared in Shockheaded Peter and was also credited as Assistant Director/Co-Choreographer.  Two of her favorite roles were Grendel’s Mother in Beowulf: a thousand years of baggage for which she was nominated for two Henry Awards – Best Supporting Actress in a Musical and Best Choreography with Amanda Berg Wilson and as John Colton Sumner in The Catamounts’  production of Men on Boats. She has also directed and event coordinated multiple FEED events. Outside of The Catamounts, she performs with the Band of Toughs (Nirvamlet: True West Award 2019 Theater in unusual spaces and Denver Post Ovation award Best Supporting Actress for Lydia in Big Love).  She was in the extended cast of Sweet and Lucky at the Denver Center/Off-Center. She has an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University and BFA in Acting from NYU’s Experimental Theater Wing.
